Can securities be traded “Strictly By VOLUME”?
Jun 15th
Such as stocks and bonds. How would you do this? What would the volume high and low points have to be? Would (security) price matter? What would the parameters have to be to trade Strictly by VOLUME? Thanks.
When all is said and done, how much can I expect to pay Edward Jones to manage a $10,000 account per year?
Jun 14th
Let’s assume I invest in the typical “moderate-risk” portfolio with a mixture of bonds, stocks, and internationals.
Let’s also assume that I don’t flip the account at all the entire year. No active trading.
I’m asking this because my mom, who’s retired, is paying a financial planner 1% on her 0.9 mil account that really is quite straightforward (mainly income stocks), and I was wondering if a popular brokerage would offer similar services at lower rates.
Commodity Futures and Forex Interest Rates What’s the Difference?
Jun 14th
I have been trading commodity contracts for about a year and have done good for myself. However, I have been considering trading forex as well. I know that interest rates affect the forex markets depeding on the pairs traded.
Additionally, I know that interest rates affect weather you receive/payout on certain pairs, however, im not sure with rate drives this.
Also, I came across an excellent blog post regarding
the bond futures market http://www.aarontrade.com/commodityfuturestrading/?p=25
Are forex interest rates affected by this 30 year rate or something else? If bond futures do enter a long-term bear market how does this affect forex interest rates?
Thanks for any potential help

When did war bonds become savings bonds?
Jun 13th
During WWII the Treasury sold War Bonds ostensibly to help finance the War, but actually to pull currency out of circulation and help control inflation during a time of rationing and relative high wages in the civilian population. WHen did the name change occur.
Does any one remember Savings Stamps? When sis they stop selling them. I remember bringing 10 cents a week to school to purchase a savings stamp, placing it in a small booklet and then trading it for a savings bond whaen it was filled with stamps.
Green stamps, Blue stamps and Plaid stamps. I got the sleeping bag I used as a boy scout with plad stamps.
What are all the types of assets?
Jun 12th
I’m fully aware of:
*commercial, medical, residential, retail real estate.
*private businesses, real estate investment trusts, stocks, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, oil/natural gas trusts.
*corporate bonds, municipal bonds, other government bonds.
*precious stones, precious metals, other non-renewable natural resources that can be owned.
*knives, firearms, dehydrated food, water, water purifiers, other mostly-functional survival objects which could be traded after society collapses.
*knowledge of how to build, operate and repair systems, be they business or mechanical.
I’ll define an asset as something that can add value to you or someone else, and can be traded for goods and/or services. I don’t consider a job to be an asset, and self-employed-type skills like salesmanship are covered above under knowledge. Please don’t start splitting hairs about any of the above (for instance, palladium goes under precious metals). I’m an investment fiend, and I need a new fix.
