An important aspect of the CBO analysis is that it ignores the new burdens put on the states to pay for this travesty.

Whatever they say, count on billions more. It’s a joke.

No I don’t put any stock into it, especially when the libs in congress are double counting the medicare cuts they are proposing.

the cbo themselves said it isnt very accurate. if even they dont trust their numbers why should we?
one example is they based the price on the fact that the capital gains tax hike will bring in $10B more revenue (figure might be wrong) but capital gains tax hikes in the past have actually decreased revenue.

no. they (the govt.) are always wrong about this stuff, Medicare was supposed to cost 12 billion in 1990 but it actually cost 107 billion. and they keep changing the projected cost of this HC bill.

    You are totally wrong.

The CBO is notoriously conservative in their estimates, and did NOT factor in the cost saving effects of preventative and wellness treatment AT ALL.

Republicans will be the big losers in the program (news flash!) because they will have an ideological aversion to being healthy (they will cut off their noses to spite their faces…. again).

Yes. Seems to me most people will put stock in the CBO if it agrees with their preconceived notions. No Republican will go along with it while the Democrats are in power. When it’s the Republicans turn in power, Democrats won’t believe anything that comes out of the CBO.

No trackbacks yet.
