I wouldnt unless your very thin at pitcher. Bonds is actually having a great year so far. Hes ranked #7 in the Yahoo rankings, where Sheets is around 670 or so.

No. A good rule to follow in fantasy football is to never trade an everyday position player for a pitcher. No matter how good the starting pitcher might be he only starts every 5 days.

You shouldn’t make that trade. Bonds has too much value at the moment. If you want to trade him, make sure you trade him for an elite player who is underachieving a few weeks from now.

When you’ve got an unexpectedly hot player, a rule of thumb is to get rid of him as soon as he goes into a slump. Of course, if he continues on this pace all year, you’ll definitely want to keep him around. He doesn’t appear to be cooling down yet, so don’t deal him.

Dealing an overachiever for an underachiever around the middle of the year means that you’ll have the better half-season of each player. But you don’t trade overachievers while they’re still on their hot streak.

Hold onto Bonds for a while, but get rid of him if you want as soon as he appears to be going into a slump.

No way. Home run king for questionable pitcher? Not a chance.

I might do it if you need pitching help. Do you have an outfielder to replace Bonds with? Bonds takes more days off than the average OF so he will produce, but not as much as some. Also those days off will increase if he passes Aaron. Sheets is injury prone however but when healthy is one of the two or three best pitchers out there. I think before I accepted I’d see if I couldn’t find someone impressed by the name and the possible HR record. Who knows you might get Peavy or Santana if a Bonds fan owns either of those pitchers.

This has everything to do with how you feel about Bonds’ health, and if you are really, really hurting for pitching.

Bonds is playing well, and he seems to be healthy, and motivated to break the record. At some point, teams will stop giving him quality pitches, or walk him even more than normal. We don’t know what cetegories matter in your league. I don’t think anyone wants to give up the record tater.

That said, I would hang on to Barry and ride the train for a while. Sheets is not much to write home about, and another pitcher will come along, perhaps even on the waiver wire.

It’s too early to blow up your roster. You have to be patient, even if you appear to be way behind all ready. It is a long, long season, and you shouldn’t panic until July.

I’ve watched teams on auto-pilot suddenly rise way up the standings, with little or no intervention.

Just out of curiosity, would it be a good idea to trade Barry Bonds and Barry Zito for Cliff lee, Brandon Webb, and David Wright? Statistically I am way ahead on Home Runs, Bonds walks a ton, and I’m dead-last in strikeouts. I have Chipper and Upton to play 3rd already, but have Beltran, Tori More >
