strategies in trading the stock market using futures?
i have heard many people use futures to judge how the market will react the next day..

for example if i want to know how tomorrow’s market will react, from what time till what time’s (EST) should i look out for?
errr to the 2nd reply i m a technical trader isn’t that why i m trying to learn about the fundamentals a step at a time starting from futures? >_>

Well, one good strategy is to trade them on the futures market, since futures aren’t traded on the stock market.

Your idea of Stock Investing seems to be too simple. Just the Futures price is no indication for long-term performance of the stock/market.
Look at the fundamentals of a company before investing and not on such short-term signals.

All traders look at the futures before the market opens to see how the world is reacting to news overnight. You wouldn’t be interested in world markets if you trading US markets you would simply look at the S&P futures or the nasdaq or Dow. The stock markets close at 4 PM and the futures keep trading 24 HRs except on weekends. So if the traders are selling hard then you can bet the markets will open lower
