They don’t want to trade because he is currently not under any contract. Even if they wanted to trade, they couldn’t, because he is a free agent.

Bonds is old and has bad knees. Also GM’s don’t want to have to deal with all the publicity that comes with Bonds and they don’t want the bad atitude that Barry brings. Many people hate Bonds, so if he were to sign with a team then people (maybe fans of the team) with begin to dislike that team. A finaly reason is that since Bonds has all the steroids stuff going on it would be hard to deal with that and also running the team and handiling the fans and everything else.

Not to be a stickler for this or anything, but no one really needs to ‘trade’ for Bonds.. he’s a free agent now. A team would simply have to make him an offer.
And he’s not getting offers because:
A) He no longer brings all the good media attention of chasing a home run record.
B) He brings all the BAD media attention of the steroids case.
C) He could still go to jail as far as I know.
D) He’s not going to play in the NL. Even if he was completely clean, he’s too old and slow to play in the field.
E) To the point above, the only teams that would sign him are teams that would use him as a DH. Most American League teams who are still competitive at this time of year already have a reliable DH and therefore have no need to bring in another.
